Calendar Year (CY)

 

A calendar year (CY) is the 365 (366 in a leap year) day period beginning on the first day of January and ending on the last day of December.  It is the period of time that it takes for the earth to revolve around the sun.

 

Example:

January 1,  2016, through December 31, 2016, is a calendar year (CY).
