Writing of the Declaration of Independence

Individualism

Individualism is a doctrine that stipulates that each individual is inherently, uniquely, morally, and ethically valuable; that the value and interests of each individual take precedence and should not to be superseded by those of the group (see Collectivism).

See Americanism, Capitalism, and Market Economy vs Collectivism, Progressivism, Socialism, and Communism

Example:

It was inconvenient that Mark voted against the PTA’s resolution to support the School Board’s new plan, however, as it was not in his children’s best interests, he had every right to oppose the plan.
