Election

 

An election is a formal process of selecting (electing) a representative for a political position.

 

Example:

 

There will be an election this November to fill the district’s vacant seat in Congress.  All of the citizens who are registered to vote and live in that district will be eligible to vote to select (elect) a representative to send to Washington.
