Codify
The term codify or codification refers to the act or process of making an idea, policy, belief, ideology, or any other similar concept, part of the law or code.
Example:
While the senator’s religion outlined the morality that humanity should strive to live by, he did not believe that it was appropriate to codify all of his religious beliefs into the U.S. Code as he believed that it would violate the Constitutional right to freedom of religion for other citizens.
