Republicanism

 

The term Republicanism is used in two ways:

 

1. The ideology of the Republican Party

2. The ideology of the form of government known as a Republic

 

Example:

 

A member of the Republican Party (a Republican) supports:

 

• Republicanism (the ideology of the Republican Party)

• Republicanism (the ideology of the system of government known as a Republic)

• Democratism (the ideology of the system of government known as Democracy)

• Americanism (the ideology of the system of government in the United States of America created by the U.S. Constitution)

 

A member of the Republican Party (a Republican) does not support:

 

• Democratism (the ideology of the Democratic Party)
